We have resolved the issue and Sync is fully functional for all customers.

Identified
We have identified a performance regression impacting some customers that use Sync. While we remediate the issue, automatic sync frequency has been reduced to once per hour. Customers will still be able to manually sync in the interim (by clicking ‘sync now’). Issue began June 13 11:39 AM PT, sync frequency was reduced at 12:15pm.
