On April 19th, 2021, beginning at 5:14 a.m. ET, Answers Serving began intermittently returning elevated error rates for requests in the EU region. Engineers began investigating and rerouted traffic at 7:20 a.m. ET, bringing error rates back to normal for the EU region.
The underlying data store used by Answers in the EU region began to spuriously return a new irrecoverable error code to our system, causing some requests to fail.
We have updated our serving infrastructure to handle transient errors of this nature from the underlying data store.
