This final update confirms that systems are fully operational and Wires traffic has been flowing successfully since the restoration of Expertus' system, following the resolution of Rogers' network outage.

Rogers’ ongoing network outage continues to impact Expertus, Central 1’s wires processing vendor. This has interrupted Central 1’s ability to process outgoing and incoming wires to/from other financial institutions, including credit unions in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Wires transacted between credit unions in BC, Ontario, Manitoba, and the Atlantic region are unaffected and have processed as normal as they do not flow across Expertus’ system.

Unfortunately, service was not restored before the wires processing cut off time. These impacted wires will be settled the following business day, once Rogers’ network is back online and Expertus’ system has recovered.

Updates will be provided on Monday, July 11.

To add clarity on impacts, the last wires that were successfully processed external to the Credit Union system were completed yesterday at 3:40 pm PT, (6:40 pm ET). Any wires destined for external FIs since that time are currently in queue pending processing when Expertus services recover.

We have some increased clarity on the Impact of the current service outage from Expertus due to the Rogers service disruption. Wires sent between credit unions in BC, Ontario, Manitoba, or Atlantic Canada are unaffected and will be processed as normal as they do not flow across Expertus systems. Any wires destined for financial institutions outside the Credit Union System, or sent to Alberta or Saskatchewan credit unions are impacted.

Expertus continues to experience a service outage due to the Rogers network outage. As a result, there is still an interruption to all incoming and outgoing wires.

We will provide updates as soon as we have more information.

Good Morning,

Central 1 has been advised that our vendor (Expertus) is currently experiencing a service outage due to the current Rogers Network outage.
This will interrupt the processing of all incoming and outgoing wires for Central 1 . They are investigating connectivity options available to recover service.

We will share a status update within the next hour.
