During the release of a back-end platform service, our alerting notified engineers to an issue with the Authentication service that was causing basic authentication users to be unable to access the platform. Our engineers immediately investigated and determined that a configuration change implemented as part of the release needed to be rolled back. Once the rollback was complete, we were able to confirm that all users were able to access the platform successfully. 
 
The root cause was identified as an error in the sequence of the release steps.  The cause has been fully understood by our engineers and we have identified and implemented the necessary actions to prevent this situation from occurring in the future.
We understand the impact to your experience when these types of issues occur, and we are working diligently to improve our systems and processes to avoid further issues. We appreciate your patience, and as always thank you for being a valued Anaplan customer.
