On October 7th, 2022, between 04:30 UTC and 8:00 UTC, we experienced a topology change resulting in communication issues between Managed Databases and our monitoring systems. The primary effects of this were failure to create new Managed Databases and performing root password resets on existing databases. During this time customers may have also witnessed their clusters incorrectly report as failed.
We are actively working to improve our monitoring infrastructure to make it more resilient to transient network issues in order to prevent situations like this from occurring in the future.
