This incident has been resolved, and assets that were pending review due to this issue have been processed again manually from our side.

This issue is resolved for newly uploaded files and we're currently retrying any files that didn't receive a moderation response due to this issue since 2021-08-31. We expect that any files that were stuck in 'pending' status due to this issue will be scanned by 17:00 EDT today, 2021-09-07.

We've identified an issue with assets sent to the MetaDefender Anti-Malware Protection where the moderation does not complete as expected. This issue primarily affects that were sent to the add-on on 2021-09-03, also affecting a smaller number of assets sent for scanning on 2021-08-31, 2021-09-01, and 2021-09-02.
In the short term, affected assets will list the moderation status as "pending", but can be manually approved via the Media Library or Admin API if the asset is required for delivery before the issue is resolved.
We've identified the source of the problem with the integration between the add-on provider and Cloudinary and are working on resolving it now.
The issue has been mitigated for newly-uploaded assets since 2021-09-03 11:45 EDT and we're continuing to work on full resolution, including updating all assets currently showing the "pending" moderation status.
