Administrators worked with the vendor to resolve the wireless issue. Service has been stable since a workaround was implemented on 9/22.

Update
Administrators advise they continue to work with the vendor to investigate this issue. Currently, the workarounds put in place by the vendor last week appear to have improved network performance significantly. Users who continue to experience issues are advised to contact the Technology Support Center at (309) 438-4357, by email at SupportCenter@IllinoisState.edu, or via live chat at ITHelp.IllinoisState.edu for assistance.

Monitoring
Administrators continue to monitor the wireless network following the implementation of a workaround last week. Users who experience issues connecting to, or remaining connected to the campus wireless network; or who experience slow performance while connected to the campus wireless network are advised to contact the Technology Support Center at (309) 438-4357, by email at SupportCenter@IllinoisState.edu, or via live chat at ITHelp.IllinoisState.edu to report the issue.

Update
Administrators have implemented a workaround to alleviate performance issues. Performance monitoring will continue throughout the weekend to evaluate the effectiveness of the workaround. No current performance issues are known at this time but may possibly exist.

The wireless network remains mostly stable, however intermittent wireless issues may persist. Administrators continue to work with the vendor to resolve the issue.

Workarounds - In most cases, repeated attempts to connect to WI-FI have proven successful. Additionally, connecting to the wired network or cellular service on applicable devices is another option.

While not widespread, some students, faculty, and staff may experience intermittent disconnections or a slow response while connected to the campus wireless network. Attempting to connect to WI-FI on campus may also produce an error. Administrators are working with our service provider/vendor to resolve the issue. The impact is fairly minimal at this time.
