We continuously monitor outages, slowdowns, and other issues. Should there be any interruptions in service, we'll provide status updates here.
Now that our investigation of the incident is complete, we would like to share more detailed information the past incident.
The summary from February, 9:
Between February 9 and February 13 CEST users experienced issues with the search function.
At first the page plugin was not accessible, at a later point the incident extended to the search feature.
What happened?
The Service release (searchagain) hasn’t worked properly.
The reason is that when product data grows, the search release phase consumes more resources (CPU, memory, disk, network) than before. The limit of the system was exceeded, which caused the malfunction.
Impact
The search function worked only sporadically from February 9, 11:21 am to February 13, 09:06 am. In addition, newly created pages and updates were not displayed in the page plugin.
All customers on the German server were affected.
Future Improvements
We know how important it is for you that all functions of the platform are accessible at all times. We will focus on a fix for the uneven resource consumption during search deployment to avoid such incidents in the future.
