Some clients experiencing SSL problems connecting to site
Incident Report for Chit Chats
Resolved
We have elected to install a certificate issued by a different certificate authority for now to give client devices another year to fix this problem.

Monitoring
We have stopped serving one intermediate certificate provided by the Certificate Authority that chains back to the expired root certificate. We are hopeful this will alleviate any remaining problems. As this problem is affecting many other sites today as well we're confident upstream providers will fix any remaining client problems soon.

Update
Related issues seem widespread today for many sites. Best advice we have for now is to reboot any client showing problems, after making sure that all browser and operating system updates have been applied.

Investigating
We are aware that some clients are having trouble connecting to the Chit Chats web site today with SSL certificate errors. This is due to the expiration of the Identrust DST Root CA X3 certificate today. We are currently trying to find any device internally that is experiencing this problem in order to track down a fix. Our understanding prior to today was that the certificate was cross-signed in a way that should have prevented this issue. Please make sure the date and time are correct on your computer and that you have applied all current security updates.
